I would like to thank Andy for stepping up to the plate and taking one for the team.
It looks like a win win for almost everybody. Big Red gets his J.V. cheery popped, and the Swamp run is saved.

Thanks Andy. Hopefully we can do JV and Swamp in July. Not trying to be a problem, just was hoping to get in on a run to do the trails I've been reading and seeing, sorry it took 5 pages to do that. Thanks again. :wave:

Then screw that b.s. run. There are plenty of other hardcore Toyotas, Jeeps, etc that do these trails full width with 60/14 bolt combos etc. I will run these trails 1 way another, with or without .

I told you to go with FlyTard. Did you email him to see if he wants to go? I bet Jes can get you in touch with him. I know he's dying to make JV run and you can pop your cherries together.

He looks a little scary. I really need to go with someone who know where he is going. Two JV newbies is not a good thing up there. I have directions and know where about JV is, but not what are the hard trails to the easier ones, where the trails begin/end etc etc. Just though we could get a run combining our Sierra Chapter with the SoCal group and get a good showing down there. I know many of U who go down there go in small groups with invited members, but I ask that U put that behind U and try to encourage a good size group of anyone who wants to go. While JV is not for the faint of heart, maybe we can get a few runs down multiple trails from easiest to hardest and spread the group out, but hopefully be able to meet up again for a camp out etc. Just a thought.

True, we have to have some requirements for a trails as hard as JV, but if people want to run it with 33's and at least a rear locker and sliders then they assume the risks, as all of us do, of damaging our rigs. Are there easier trails within JV that the people that are pretty close to stock with minimum mods can run? I'm sure we can work something out. It will be very hard to almost impossible to get a group of 15-25 to do JV, I could see a group of 5-10 rigs showing up, from extreme to mildly built. Can we at least throw it up there and see how many people want to make it from the Sierra & SoCal chapters? This thread is a joke, it has been used to target me, so I suggest that we include a JV run in July like Andy has thrown out there. We can get more specific with days, meet place, etc as we get closer to July.

If we did a JV run and invited everyone, the moderate trail would be the road leading out to Sunbonnet, and the easy trail would be the road leading to any of the other trails and then they can walk up and watch. NONE of the actual trails should be run by a rig with only one locker. Lower Big Johnson and Clawhammer could be run with one locker, but it's not fair to do the rock stacking that would be required.

Troy, plan to go to Fun in the Desert on Columbus Day weekend.....then take it from there.

It only qualifies if your a/c doesn't work.

If I tried running JV now in Goatman's rig, or Jes', or Crash's, or Porch Puppy's, or Paul S', or SeanP's, or...(you get the point?), I'd fail horribly. I'm going to hang out up here, on my local trails, and get seat time. If the guys who run JV decide I know what I'm doing AND my rig is ready, I may consider heading down for a run. Until then, I'm going to have fun where I can.

I suggest you do the same.

Alright sorry guys. I'm just an eager to get some of those hard trails under my belt. As U know I've been deprived alot of my life living in Chicago and now that I'm in Cali and have the rig to do the fun trails I have only read and seen in the magazines and on TV, I'm very eager to do them. Thanks for the advice Richard and Mike and others, I'll try to get on the organized runs, just hoping I could go with a group instead of a mixed bag of wheelers.
