Jump your Junk going away party this saturday at the creek....BE THERE!!!!! The rock course and the mud pits will be open, and we will be launching several unmanned cars off a 30 foot tall jump. This will be the last chance EVER to hang out at the creek... It is free to come out since its the final day. no woods riding! ravines, werock, and mudpits only. I know ill be out there getting my last crawl on

I guess I'm out of the loop. Why is the creek closing? Just another place I'll never get to hit. I got to hit Nacona it's last day, too bad I can't get to the spring.

I would guess it's because people have been riding their vehicles off of 30 foot jumps.

the Creek is closing because Harris County and Montgomery County are buying up all the land on their border (Spring Creek) and turning it into a hike and bike park. Doesn't help that within a week of opening their first section, the ATV's were already tearing things up and making their own trails down there.

If Spring Creek ORP kept their park clean, well marked and had rules (AND ENFORCED THEM) they might of been able to keep some of their land open. If not all of it. But when you have ATV riders drinking on the trails, throwing beer cans everywhere and killing themselves over stupity.... well the counties around here didn't like that too much. OHV's as well have been trearing that place up. If a trail was blocked, they would just blaze a new one. And no one did crap about it. It's people like that, that give ALL OF US a bad name.

To be honest, Spring Creek ORP deserved what happened to them.

I agree..... we have a park like that around here, and it serves them right. They give the OHV community a bad name, by not be responsible stewards of the environment, as well as not enforcing their own rules to ensure their patrons safety. It was only a matter of time. At least they are shutting down for those reasons, and not because of a lawsuit from someone getting injured, a lawsuit from an environmental organization, or from a government closure.

Sounds like it just needs new management. Me and a couple of beefy buddies, a few weeks and even the most jaded envirofreak wouldn't be able to complain.

what yall dont understand is this was going to happen anyways. NOTHING they or yall could do was going to change there mind. the park has been owned for like 6 years. the park has been in the making for approx 11-13 years. damn gov and especially jerry eversol(sp)

i agree, the park was trashed out. cans, burned cars, bs everywhere and that prob sped the process of to seize the property, but this was going to happen no matter what.

I do very much so understand. Thats why I posted this:

But there could of been alot more done to try and save the park. Atleast part of it. But no one (people that went there) showed any respect for the park, it's owners or the land. If they did respect all three of those, they would not of trashed the place. Also if the ATV crowd trashing the hike and bike trails would not of started that, it could of also helped the cause. This is by no mens 100% the parks fault but they could of had a better handle on things, like the MANY years of underaged drinking going on there.
