Correct me if I'm wrong here but aren't the drum brake Ford 8.8s the 28 spline diff....with smaller tubes
Go to the local pick n pull and grab some 91+ knuckles. Gives you an opportunity to do ball joints at the same timeyeah.. I checked out black magic/vanco... but their 15" kit is only for 90+ Cherokees. not sure what's involved in modifying it for an pre-90.

Thanks, I spoke with Blaine he said I'll have to change out thje upper ball joint, unit bearing, and possibly the axel shafts to post-90 equipment.
Has anyone used this? every retailer site I find that sells them swears they fit on stock 15" rims (I'm running 15" aftermarket rims), but I called wilwood and they said 16" rims are required... anyone use this kit with a stock wheel?

This might help.

Personally at $1k I would pass on this kit, because it requires that you use the old style knuckles. So it you ever decided to wanted to move to crossover steering this kit could not be retained. You could do the whole WJ swap for what the Wilwood would cost and being on 35's you should be doing that anyways.
Thanks all for the suggestions. I'm going with the black magic set up + a 1995 MC/booster.
I too have to agree that upgrading those bits and going black magic is the correct path for you.
I've installed several black magic kits. Blaine puts together well engineered kits that come with excellent instructions and very good documentation.
Please post up pics and part #'s f/ Blaine. I browsed his website for a few minutes yesterday and couldn't actually find the KIT for all that's needed... only parts. Could be I'd have to order all the parts separately but it's more likely I just couldn't find the kit. I've been running Black Magic brake pads on my XJ and on my wive's KJ for years and love them! Upgrading my '01 XJ to the Vanco big brake kit has always been on my want list...
