Better gas mileage with 4.88's vs 4.56's???

Ugh... don't tell me that! Lol.

Does it make a difference that I will with 33x10.5's? and not 12.5's?

I already have a lead on a 4.56- 8.25 that I was going to swap in! (I have zj disks.) And I was going to regear the front.

All this debate is leading me to maybe just run 32's for awhile. (Hopefully some 32 inch pizza cutters. Cause I like pizza.)

Pizza is good, especially meatlovers. And yeah the 10.50's would probably be a different scenario than my 12.50's. Less footprint = less rolling resistance. I think you'd probably be okay.

GRRRR so lemme get this straight 4.88s will give me better highway MPG as in 65mph+ driving is that correct? Trying to figure this out before i put my 4.56s in.. its not too late to change..

I'm not entirely sure about the mileage thing. But from what I've heard, there isn't THAT much difference in RPMs at highway speeds between 4.88 and 4.56 gears. Maybe a couple hundred RPMs at best. So I wouldn't think the mileage difference would be that great.

What I DO know is that I've never heard someone say they wish hey had lighter gears. But Ive heard plenty of people say they wish they went deeper.

Ok thats what I needed to hear, thank you! time to sell my 4.56s and get some 4.88s

I'm not too worried about the locker being noticeable or not on the street, I'd prefer something in the rear for some extra traction during hill climbs and for playing in the mud.

However I am a bit of a rookie in the locker department, all I really have knowledge in is how the damn things work, meh. Guess I'll be looking into locking the front first, appreciate the infos dudes :)

An alternative is a TrueTrac Torsen LSD. Less stress on the halfshafts etc because it's not a full lock. You can have it in the rear and you won't get any weird locking/unlocking. A lot of sports cars have Torsens.
