I've had (have) Sanden OBA, Superflow MV-50, and CO2..

Sanden OBA PRO's
1: Super fast tire inflation.
2: Most convenient
CONS:
1:Gets HOT! after 4 35" tires..
2:Requires maintenance (proper oilling, Tight connections etc etc)
3: Goodbye Air conditioning!!!!!

CO2 PRO's
1: continuous 125psi (my regulator)
2: Most portable
3: OBA pressure, while maintaining Air conditioning!
CONS:
1: ALOT to store! (really inconvenient IMO)
2: $15 every 2-4 wheeling trips

Superflow MV-50 PRO'S:
1: Easy to store, (small/light)
2: Cheapest option!
CONS:
1: Slowest option, Only good for tires(no tools)
2: Made in china.. Great performance, Terrible Chinese quality.

I carry the CO2 to most trips, and i always have the MV-50 with me for backup..

I have not done OBA to my current rig.. I like my A/C

I looked at the HF ones, but i hate to buy things i want to use more than once from HF. I have to say my winch from there is awesome kind of slow though.

There's always a bunch of homies selling off Viair compressors from air ride systems on CL around here - would one of those work to install for filling tires? (no tank) What would be the difference in a compressor for an air ride system and one for Jeep setups?

Good link. In addition to that, there is a really good write-up that was just posted on the TJ forum regarding converting the Sanden compressor to OBA here: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/b...k-tj-c-system-full-write-up-pictures-1382701/

There's a new 12V compressor on the market called the MV90. It's the bigger brother to the MV50.

Here's a link to that compressor: http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/inde...superflow-mv-90-mega-air-compressor-mv90.html

Here's a video comparing the fill times of the MV50 and MV90:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSZe25to95A

I have the MV 89, slightly slower than the Mv90. But I LOVE it. Fills my 33 12.50s from around 12 to 30 in just under a minute. Fills 35 12.50s in just under 2 minutes.

On the trail I filled 12 tires before the guy using his ARB pump filled his set back up to 30. 1 set of 32s, 1 set of 33s, and a set of 35s.

Fills a flat bike tire in around 5 seconds.

The ONLY beef I have, and this will be with all of these coiled hoses. Is the on board pressure gauge will never be accurate, as I'd the coil is completely stretched out it will read a different PSI, and if it is unstretched a different PSI. It becomes a guessing game. But you eventually get used to it.

I went to o riley's for a fan clutch and they had the mv-50 for $80. So I bought it. I really like it. Rubicon in two weekends so I will offer to do as many tires as I can. Break it in early.

Thank you for all the advice.

Nate

Any made in the U.S.A?

I was curious what people thought of this Iron Rock Offroad setup.

.....
That is a Puma compressor.

I've had mine for about 8 years now but, I bought it from Buzzard Gulch tools www.buzzardgulch.com and paid $169 shipped to my door!...they've gone up since then but, still a great deal.

It's made in Taiwan but, is of extremely high quality and works very well, I talked a couple of guys on here into getting them...maybe they'll chime in.

Just ordered one of these myself. Been wheeling for years with a guy who has had one for almost a decade. It works every time, and will easily air up 3-4 rigs, no problem.
Ordered thru Wal-Mart of all places ....69.00!!!!!
