Best U-joint w/ zerks?

What's the best non-spicer u-joint I can get for my 96 XJ front axles that has zerk fittings?

So you basically, you want to go from the strongest to non-strongest type ?
If that's the case, just roll the dice with Vato-Zone, O'Realy ? or any of the others.

when the driveshaft is under power. (As opposed
to being under tension.)

This will make the U-joint much less likely to fail.

I never did understand that. I thought those forces were cyclic, similar to the connecting rod between a piston and crankshaft.

X2 on CTM joints
They are stronger than a chromoly Dana 30 27 spl shaft, and stronger than a 31spl Yukon grizzly for a ford 9"

Those CTMs look great but are a little out of my price range. I prob should have asked what's a good greaseable U that's comparable to the Spicers in price and quality. My 4 wheeling is limited to snow driving and rarely off road. And if off road nothing aggressive at all.

Also, how can you tell if your mechanic hasn't found the sweet spot when he presses in your U's? When I did less work on this machine he pressed some in for me about 4 years ago and now they're cracking again like the grease is gone and the needle bearings are wearing.

There's nothing wrong with a non-greaseable your joint. Order Spicer 760 joints.

Use the Spicer and don't worry about a zerk all they do is weaken the joint. I would never use a greaseable joint on any 4x4 or racecar that I own and I have racing for a very long time over 40 yrs. The 760 Spicer joint could outlast your XJ possibly.

The OPs vehicle is not a race car, nor does it appear from description as highly modified.

I run Greasable Precision joints in all my 4X4s. You get the ones with the Zerk in the Cap. I use them on the Driveshafts, and Wheel joints (Axle Shaft joints).

The Zerk in the Cap makes access to the fittings easier. I haven't broken one in years. The ones I have replaced were worn due to excessive drive line angles, or not greasing them after running through creeks.
