Wow, it looks brand f'g new - whoever detailed that needs a raise. Wood trim on manual windows... odd.

Definitely one VERY clean and correct XJ. I do believe that the lower tan paint (flares, bumpers and rockers) are repainted as are the wheels. No harm done, but it looks like a semi-gloss compared to others I've seen. Same with the wheels, no clear coat and I can see where a couple of the wheels have sprayed over curb rash.

I definitely dig it's unique options too.

DJ should own it. But then again..... he wouldn't want to drive it when it's nasty out.....

I'd never pay that either, but I bet they get it.

They will. As much as we sit here and balk at these prices, the fact is they are selling. They are getting 10+ for rigs with 100k+ miles on them as long as they are in mint condition. I remember seeing a 2001 Limited with 23k original miles on it. Sienna Pearl, tan leather, heated seats, every option really. It was a 2wd and in Florida. Looked cleaner than the country I posted. Absolutely immaculate condition. It was listed for $7,400 about 5 years ago and I remember thinking that price was outrageous. Now it's a friggin' steal. People are paying so much for them now that you have outfits like Davis Autosports snatching up every low mile XJ they can find, throwing a cheap lift on it and probably doubling their money.

it is very parallel to the Grand Waggy market, which I have been watching -- prices literally range from $1,500 to $65,000 for 83-91 Grands, with two companies doing frame off restorations/updates at that high end and essentially selling re-New Grands. Trick is to find one less than immaculate, but something close that gets into the lower 1/4 of the price range but the top 1/2 of the quality. Stupid seller would be a plus.

I have been watching those myself. I have a soft spot for them as my old man owned one for a few years

Same story, though Dad died in '09...

You and your 2-doors... If that is the route you're going, there was a white one in Larkspur on CL ('77), don't see it there today, but it was there yesterday - be a good starting point, priced at $8k, really clean body.

Some of my fondest memories are when I was a pup, dad had a tired old FSJ, and the local wrecking yard got a newer burned out one. We spent a summer doing a drive train swap. Don't know how much help I was, but we had fun.

Love to get one like DJ posted. 2 for FTW.
