Best of Craigslist

I merely require motivation. :D

Aw c'mon man! :D

I don't need one that bad, I was just toying with the idea of snagging one for a future build or to turn a profit on someday if I didn't end up using it. There's definitely better things I could be spending my money on for my truck right now

Now you know where one is if you get the itch... At least for now.

Honestly, after building mine and the money that went into it...not sure I'd ever build a 1 ton OEM axle again (at least a D60).

I did build mine before the explosion in aftermarket stuff, but I've got $5k+ into my front '79 D60 (The housing, spindles, and caliper brackets are basically all that's left of the original axle).

If your building something like that, more than likely your going to scrap: the cover, hubs, outer axles, discs, calipers, gears, kingpin assemblies, etc. etc. and basically end up with the housing.

So, unless you plan on just slapping it under and running it as is...why?

At this point, if I were to do it over again, I'd probably do a front 14 bolt, or have a scratch built D60 from something like a Crane or SOLID housing, Inner C's, and Knuckles.

You won't be out of pocket much, if any more than buying that old ass axle, and you can go with thicker tubes if you want, and size it exactly how YOU want.

Heck, you can pickup a Currie RockJock front housing with 3.250" x .375" wall tubes and Reid KP's for $2k. Like you said, you are pretty much going to replace every other part.

I need to shop mine to guys who aren't as smart as you fellas. :eyes:

Yup...exactly.

Not too much more and you could go all out with something like a Torq 14 bolt :D

Oh don't worry...there's still plenty :D

"Police Interceptor models of the Cherokee came with a bigger and stronger transmission and transfer case than the other Cherokee models."

Curious if it has a column shift, rubber floor covering, idle switch and dash full of holes........

I texted him asking for some proof it was a police package XJ after sending him the list of common options found on police jeeps (column shifters, rubber floors, console delete, idle bump switch, etc)

He says the car fax shows it was owned by a Michigan PD in it's past and it has this on the rear hatch:
