So I don't get it...Does the rig come with skins? It's not half bad looking with the skins on it, but the look of a square tube cage makes it look like the Lego moon rover.

I don't mind it as is. But the V-10 is certainly overkill. And all the Blue Oval disease it contains....... yick.

'Grin's Stomper truck could easily be made into a cool copy of this though.......

Your flattery will get you nowhere...

meh -- I agree, its a used Ford, though I'm sure its a good time if you have more money that you know what to do with. I'll gladly unload Stomper for 1/10 of that price, and you'd get a fresh 460 bored 3 over, and SM465 w granny 1st, a NP205, and D70 rear and a 79KP D60 front... I'll drive right over rockzilla... if I could get the carb straight.

They do, and I probably will... had toyed with TBI, but have neither the time nor the inclination. It will likely get sold later this year or early next, as I really don't need it, and while its fabulous yard art, my wife may or may not agree...

What's that got to do with product reliability?

I can simply attest to my own personal experiences and knowledge. Everyone I know that owns a Ford truck does nothing but bitch about them. Guy on my team was a Ford die-hard until his latest Power Stroke set him back over $8K in repairs in a 3 month time span. He traded it in on a 2002 Cummins 3500 that I suggested he go check out. He can't stop saying how much he loves that truck. He's had it a year and tows a 30' 5th wheel 6-10 times a year. Hasn't spent a dime on repair and it hasn't been in the shop except for an oil leak that the dealership fixed as part of the sale agreement.

Oh, and the last thing he bitched about was when he traded in his newer Ford for the older Dodge. They low-balled him on trade in value because "No body wants these. We can't move them anywhere close to blue book value." His truck KBB'd at $13K..... they gave him $7500.

My '04 was my least favorite and was plagued with an A/C blend door issue. Shifting from the auto trans wasn't ideal. Cab design/layout wasn't my favorite. But it never got towed. NONE of my Dodge trucks ever got towed.

Outside of trucks if you look at how many awd issues or or rear mains (mustangs) should be recalled by ford due to such shit quality and design.
Jut because it isn't recalled (yet) doesn't make it a good part/vehicle.

All the hate on the blue oval, but no mention of the D50 front axle and 54'' military meats? How long will a ball joint/ unit bearing last pushing those heavy tires around?

Minus the price being 60k too high, I kind of like it.:gag:

And Ive liked all our Ferd trucks.

Anyone need a tractor/project?

BEAUTIFUL OLD FORD 9N TRACTOR - $750
For sale to a good home. This 9N has some engine problems and it clearly needs a paint job and maybe a couple of tires. Restoration project for the winter.

A lot, If you can"t manage your money you can't manage employee quality and conduct..... the unions sealed the fate of GM. Every make and model has it's issues but far fewer problems are coming out of the Blue Oval camp these days!

Your experience and knowledge is as biased as mine because I can tell the same story from a different point of view. I have seen more people ditch GM and Dodge HD's for Ford. You failed to mention what year Ford HD your friend had.... if it was the 6.0 Navistar that makes perfect sense. Here is a quote for ya "Diesel Power Magazine ranked the 7.3L one of the top ten diesel engines ever produced. Today, over two million 7.3L engine-equipped Ford Trucks are still in operation – more than Chevrolet, GMC, and Dodge diesels, combined. During its 9 year production run, the 7.3L was widely acknowledged as a leader in diesel engine technology." Hmmm.......... this must be a biased quote from a Diesel Mag...

If it is the 6.0 ...... no suprise there...

They all have issues of some sort. Requardless of what is being built the fact remains that GM and Dodge all took tax payer dollars because they mismanage money like the Federal government! If you were a small business owner do you think you would have been bailed out of financial failure ..... nope you would have closed your doors! It is a matter of principle for me and I will never buy a GM or Dodge product again! I hear people bitch about the problems we have in this country all the time yet they support the foolisness out of ignorance or just plain dont give a ****... Your avatar implies you dislike Obama and what he has done and is doing YET your support of Dodge implies you are happy to support his type of policy behind the scenes..........

You speak from what professional experience? If you want to be serious here then technically GM should be suied and put out of business! The Mustang is the most popular muscle car in the world because Ford designs and produces shit quality cars.......................You must have been dropped on your head as a baby!

As a service writer for ford factory service. I know. Nothing near what you experience working with. And I know working directly for ford in their factory line to write service doesn't count as any reasonable experience with the parts or places that need to get repaired regularly or anything. Speaking of dropped on head, you should pull yours out your ass.

Enough.

What Ira's peeved about it is support for a product that was bailed out by Obama. Ford wasn't, GM and Chrysler were, although more so GM. If I remember correctly, Chrysler is now owned by Fiat and the AW union. All the salaried people at both companies took a haircut on their pensions, not the hourly. The stockholders of Chrysler lost most of their equity, which went to the union. We spent something in the neighborhood of $20 billion on GM. Why, so union workers have jobs? Gee, I don't.

It's hopeless to base personal product preferences on politics. It's so freaking corrupt through and through, that one would have to eliminate 3/4's of the products on the national market.

Now, for a mere two hundred dollars per hour per person, I would be glad to teach people how to be as perfect as I am. :)
