Look like a pair of either CJ-2a or CJ-3a Jeeps to me. Bow pockets on the driver's side, bow mounts on the rear corners and low hoods. All of which make them late 40's, not early 50's. IMO that is...

Anywho, a good price for a pair of builders. The sheet metal is worth twice that to a restorer that want original, not replacement panels.

I believe there were still 3a's in production earliy 50's, and 3b's with the high hoods too... nice price if there is as much there as it looks like. BUT, if any of you who are taller than say 5'6" have ever tried to drive a flat fender Willys, you know how bruised your knees are! Those things are SMALL!

Drove a 53 litter (ambulance ) jeep fron 56 to 59, it had less hp than a riding lawnmower ;and was alsost as fast ,, they didn't climb over things just kinda bounced over them ,if some one needed one of them for a ride to the hosp he would be doa .

I've always had a soft spot for Willys, but if I were to buy one, it would be a 2-seater, as I would move them way back to make the damn thing drivable. I'm actually toying with building a late-50's Willys Wagon as my next rig...

If you are looking to do a Wagon, do try to get a late model with the one piece windshield. I built a '60 Wagon (split window) back in '81. Paid $600 for it and it had a Ford small block installed. A nice, little, 260 V8.

Why one piece? Even with a new gasket the windshield will want to leak.

Go ahead, ask me how I know...

If you find one local and would like an opinion,PM me and I will be more than glad to help! I may not know much, but I do know Willys.

You are correct about the 3a staying in production and I think it was in '56 when it made yet another appearance as the DJ-3a.

Size. Yup, the early CJ series were insanely small as they were still the same size as the MBs. One of the acceptance criteria for the MB, from the Army, was that with a guy on each corner, the vehicle had to be light enough to be picked up and carried out of a ditch. So, just how big can they be? I used to be 5'10" and do not fit well into the 2a I have. Sort of scrunched.

But, with the top off they are fun.

good tip, man. I will definitely hit you up if/when the time comes!

hmmm, thornturds. No matter "he" never went anywhere. Interesting dash integration on that cage...

The heater and a/c blew cold last year? I thought heaters were supposed to make heat. :D
