Here's a trip down memory lane for me...........

Back in '89 or so, I was working part-time delivering pizzas and took an order to this guy's place - kinda off the beaten path (for the south Jeffco area anyway) and this guy comes out of a row of detached garages by the house flagging me down. He was working on a Mustang restoration project, but had this Bronco and a nearly matching black and orange Bronco with a blower as well sitting in the shop. The guy was real cool and I was firing off questions left and right..... He fired up this very Bronco for me while I was there..... INCREDIBLE. I just remember being in awe for it's build quality (at the time). Each time I'd deliver pizzas to him I'd be there for way too long, pissing off my boss......... :D

Crazy how it's still around in that very same condition, very few changes/modifications. And...... it's still in the Littleton area.

I know lots of folks would think that thing is hideous by today's standards, but it sure is quite a time capsule of what was bitchin' in the past......

And here it is, for sale on e-bay...... dumb luck that I stumbled upon it.

Hehehe I was lookin at buying that way back when I ended up gettin... shit I've lost track, I don't remember which one of my vehicles I got instead. But it sounded kinda finicky IIRC, something about a front end conversion to leaf springs and a 2wd transmission cause its stronger than a 4wd trans is (not sure if that's true or not), along with some other odd stuff.

And I'm not a big fan of the Broncos, but with a decent coat of paint (brown, maybe?) that might not be too bad.

Lots of us have experience drivin pies -- I delivered for a couple years in college for "Mama J's" in Greeley, home of the 18" (novel at the time - 1990) "big mama's feast" - 15 lbs of pizza. mmmmmm. :chef:

You delivered Pizza's? Wow, I thought I was the only pizza boy around here.

For who?

A mom and pop shop, 2nd generation owners. "Pizza Casa South". Used to be next to the Safeway at Belleview and Kipling.

we had to double box them, and soaked about a cup of grease off the top with paper towels before sending them out -- Pepperoni, Sausage, GP, Onion, Mushrooms, Black Olives, fresh tomatoes, and a boatload of cheese.:lickout:

Borriello Brothers down here in the springs does 18" pies, but they're New York style, so they're not as hefty.

I STILL have yet to find a pizza place that makes a pie even remotely close to as good as Pizza Casa's. They had a 2-layer pizza called the "Stuffato" that was basically one huge calzone with stuff inside and on top. Sauce made 2-3 times a week, dough made daily, all fresh ingredients... Incredible.....

I'm still friends with Billy, the former owner. In fact, he bought my '54 Buick street rod and still has it today...... Freakin' guy got divorced, then re-married UP. Married an airline Captain...... he's now "retired" playing Mr. Mom and building cars in a million dollar home........ bastid. :D

Ok, so I decide to send an e-mail thru the E-bay ad to that Bronco guy. He replied a bit ago asking me to call and chat about old times.

He is indeed the same guy, same owner. He's doing VERY well for himself - owns a Mustang/Shelby restoration business in Golden "The Mustang Ranch". Rich has quite a collection of expensive cars now..... several '60's Shelby's, Mach/Boss Mustangs, a 900 hp Pantera, an '08 GT40 and the list goes on......

Still a cool guy too. Offered to meet up for a beer and take one of his fleet out for a ride...... I suppose I could lower my standards a bit and slide into a Ford for fun.....:D
