I'm not sure, but that might have one of those plastic, variable runner, intakes.

I worked on a Geo that busted the block by bottoming in a gutter at speed. The boss for the front mount broke off.

Honestly, tend to cause more problems than not. It makes it harder to work on anything front of the axle related, and attracts dirt, mud, gear oil, etc. like non-other. Also, on a lifted rig it doesn't really protect much of anything...

Agreed. Only reason mine is still on the 96 is because it gives me a small benefit if I become truly retarded and need to slide on it because I chose a line with a big honkin' rock in the middle and nothing under the tires.

My v8 zj tie rod appears to be up to the task of my idiot driving even without the skid since rocks that miss the skid hit it, it has a few pretty good scars on it but hasn't bent and the TREs are still good.

On a lifted rig, it can also bind the steering and become the skid plate of death. Watched Mark almost hit a guard rail on a bridge because of his.

I've done a little business with that guy - nicely built XJ he's parting out. Those should be some good quality axles.

Hey all you Craigslist people,

I am looking for a suburu, honda, or VW (really anything good) 4 door that gets pretty good gas mileage. Something cheap. I got 2000 bucks to spend. PM me if you run across something. I am wanting to take some miles off my XJ during the winter, since I usually only hit the trail during the summer.
