Sticking to the 31's.... that is my story.

It drives only around town. Only.freeway it sees is from one side of town to another. 3.07 going to 3.55 soon. calculated it out to about 16-18 mpg if i drive. 14-15 when my brother drives it. should stay about the same after regear, just have more ass.

I'm running 4.56 with 32" and a stick. It wheels very well at that gear ratio. Next set of tires will be 33". That should help the highway cruising a bit.

Yeah, 33's, a stick, and 4.11's cruise at 3k RPM which is about 80 mph. It's not real comfortable in my old beast.

I run 32,s (265X75X16) mostly on road & Beach (Soft Sand), with a little trail use once or twice a year. I like a smooth tire (Standard load rating) but wanted a little more aggressiveness than all season tires provide. I went with Firestone Destination A/Ts & could not be happier, they are very good on road/soft sand beaches/Snow & are wearing very little after the 30K miles I have on them. For the price they can't be beat, I paid $116 each from tire rack a few years back, Now I think they are like $140 each.

Sorry to dig up this dinosaur but if you go to the Big O' Tires on Kipling and Bowles ask for the manager(and when I remember his name I'll edit this post) tell him Dustin sent you and he'll do the best he can for you. My family and I have done a lot of business with this store and I worked there at one point in time. I just got a set of tires for my lady's bmw for 450 bucks out the door. They've always got the duratracks in stock. and for you bfg a/t guys they've got some access to those still as well for a good price as they're trying to clear them out of their inventory.
I've got a set of 31x10.50's on my hardbody. They're quiet, they'll hold a load, they're easy on gas, they run a little tall, they're forgiving if you run your PSI a little higher for fuel economy.. Ride quality doesn't suffer too bad. They're phenomenal on ice and hardpack snow, they wear well.. They're really a great tire. Oh, and they really don't pull too bad under heavy braking on the road. Really poised and stable.

I think I'm going to go with 33" duratracs for my XJ. On my WK I've got 32" Destination A/TS which, as previously stated, provide a good balance.

Fwiw I'm on 3.5" RE lift with 35's but have tucked rear quarters and trimmed fenders. I love it although I'm going up another inch in the near future.
