Best 31 snow tire

The Revo's may be a different story, but I had the the Bridgestone Dueler A/T and to be honest they plain sucked after 10K on them. My wet traction was worse then the General Ameri-550's that came on my van. In the snow I learned to stay home or have the tow truck on speed dial.
Yeah the Revo's have different stages of rubber in the tread so as the tire wears down and gets older there is always nice new sticky rubber to grab the road. The Dunlops that were on the Jeep previously would brake loose taking off in a straight line in the rain extremely easy, they would also break loose extremely easily on dry pavement going around corners if I gave it more than necessary throttle. These new Dueler Revo's will not break loose at all taking off floored in a straight line in the rain. If I am turning and stomp on the pedal on wet pavement 90% of the time they hardley break loose at all. They deffinently work better than the 30in BFG A/T's I had on my other XJ. By the way, the tire size I have is 265/70-16 which is almost 31inch's tall and 10 inchs wide.

89 Pioneer on BFGs 2235/75/r15. I've only had the jeep since mid-Dec, but we're still good for a couple of good snows here in Denver. So far the thing is fantastic when the weather gets nasty.

I have to say tho, your driving can make as much or more difference than a tire. Just like crawlin' or bombin thru the desert, driving on snow/ice AND getting to your destination w/out any new dents is a skill which takes practice. I've been driving a 2wd dakota on summer tires (225/65/r16) up here for the last ten years (not the same set), and every time it snows I drive by lots of 4x4s in the median/shoulder (even XJs). I bought a pair of snow chains when I moved here but didn't even take them out of the plastic til the blizzard we got hit by last year.
