The lift install took a while, but I got it done with time to spare to enjoy the weekend. Here are the first couple of pics of the new look.

This is the first pic with the RE6200 Extreme Duty short arm suspension lift and 33x10.50x15 BFG A/T MT KM2s installed.

Look closely and you'll see the Frog's baby sister in the background. That's Old Blue with the RE 3.5" lift and 31" BFG A/T KO's.

its a red poison dart frog of course. nice! its lookin very nice!

Just curious, what makes you call it a frog?

I have had over 30 vehicles and I have always given them names. I guess it sort of ties some personality to the vehicle in an anthropomorphic sort of way. When I bought this Jeep, I was driving it home thinking of a name and a few miles from where I purchased it, I came upon a tavern named the Red Frog. Here's a pic the day I bought it.

The name just stuck and I think it suits it. I have an exhaust leak at the manifold and it sort of reminds me of a frog.

Favorite name for a car was "Cado Auto" back in the mid 1980's. I was stationed in Iceland and I purchased an avocado green Buick from a fellow GI, with rattle cans in the back for "touch up." Air shocks and snow tires in the back. I loved the Cado Auto.

That looks great!

Can we see a front head on pic?

Here's a shot from the front. The 10.50's really don't stick out too far, even with the Soft 8's and 4 1/2" backspace.

AJ is building me a sweet front bumper and it should be here in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I will need to trim some fenders and relocate the OE flares. I wonder if I could just do without them?

Looking great so far! That new front bumper will really complete the transformation to trail rig.

tires look alot better with 15x8's on it, i have 4" lift with 33x10.50at's on stock wheels and i didnt think the extra inch of width would be needed but i will just have to put down the money and buy wheels now. i thought most soft 8's came standard with 3.75 backspacing, did you request the 4.5" bsing?

Check out SummitRacing.com and type in CRR-3975812 for the part number. Those rims are 42.95 each. Cheap.

Thanks, guys. I'm finding it drives very well too.

I need to hold off on wheeling until the front bumper comes in and I do some fender trimming. As you can tell, the flares will be torn off with the first flex as it currently sits.

heres an idea for fender trimming... when i trimmed i used my front flares as a line to go off of and just used a body saw to cut them then used a pool noodle to take out the flex. if you havent trimmed before. it would be in your best interest's to unplug the washer fluid bottle and remove it before cutting into it =). i also used some black door trim protector stuff and ran a thin bead of silicone inside of it, then pressed it on and blue taped it in place to keep it in place until it dried. and the rear is self explanitory. it sucks cutting and folding the rear's, i hate watching the paint just chip away and not being able to do anything about it. take pics after the trim job. ur xj is gonna have lots more tire to fender gap without the flares =)

You said pool noodle. That cracked me up.

I hear you can heat up the paint with a hair dryer to prevent it from cracking. Any truth to that?
