Beer

Oh man Woody..oh man! :D

Sierra Nevada...Mmmmm Reminds me of a story...

I was about 19. My buddy Brett's roomate Larry had just graduated college (I've always had older friends), anyway, Brett likes good beer, and he worked at a liquor store at the time. Anyway, he got Larry a keg of Sierra. At the party there were only three of us realy drinking it, Brett, his friend Stefan, and myself (larry probably had four glasses of it). Anyway, we got rid of about half the keg that night...needless to say I just stumbled to the couch at the end of the night!

Yeah, I've been on the downhill end of quite a few kegs of Sierra Nevada. Out here we get all of the different varieties. They make about 20 or so.They end up bottling about 10 or so. My fave for the last few years has been the Celebration Ale. It comes out around Christmas. Damn tasty but a little hoppy. If you're ever jonesin' for a night where you end up drooling on the floor, the SN Bigfoot ale just the ticket. It comes out just after the new year. Mmmmmmm beer. Myself, I've been on a Lagunitas kick recently. My buddy lives out on the coast and usually keeps at least three varieties on tap. He got me hooked. All this beer talk has gotten me thirsty. Gotta go.........

"only about 15 of us were 'real' drinkers...so we stayed in 'Arthur' status for a while."

Out of that 15...11 lightweights left that night..leaving my two little bro's and my bro-in law/neighbor...Us 4 were the ones in Arthur Status...LOL filled up empty 2-liter pop bottles instead of mugs...That was a sodden party to end all...took a few days to drain the keg, but by golly we sent it back empty. IIRC the saying was when any of us refilled our 2ltr bottle: "GROG UP"

Had the sqwarts for days after :dunno:

10th anniversary party we'll repeat it...try to find a keg of Murphys or Guinness this time...

Maissel wheat was good dark bier too IIRC...hard to find in the country :( and I only venture to cities under duress.

Karlm, (and anyone else)
If you get a chance head out to Anderson Valley on Hwy 20 and hit the Anderson Valley Brewing Company. Every beer they make is outstanding. Their Amber (Boontville) is easily my favorite amber. Beats the one I just brewed I'm sad to say. But not too sad, 'cause they sell Boontville just down the street from me here in Reno. :D
Any of you boys headin' out from Sactown to Ivan's Lost Coast Run this weekend will thank yourselves for stoppin' by and pickin' up some supplies on your way out.

The President of Rolling Rock would be in the can taking a leak...

Karlm -- and anybody else within spittin' distance of the Feather River -- if you haven't yet, ya oughta try the Butte Creek Ale. I am really fond of Sierra Nevada's Porter, Summerfest, and Celebration, but Butte Creek's Stout will curl yer toes.

Went to the Belgian bistro last night had some 15% beer...niiiiiiiice! Wouldnt drink that one while swapping out a rear, that ones more for when the job is done you give yourself a nice reward.
