please pardon MY ignorance, but, why all that work for 2WD?

to maintain some sort of semblance of a straigt axle when going really fast and hitting jumps and stuff in the desert... if they were to bend those all the steering geometry would go straight out the window, and handling would be terrible.

a good majority of desert racing rigs, jeepspeeds included, are 2wd.

Because a 2wd beam will bend just like a 4wd axle. Neither is desirable to have bent...
