Bastard pack builders: What did you use and how much lift did you get?

i used the 1st, 2nd & 3rd leaves off a _full size_ Chevy blazer and cut the top blazer leaf just short of the shackles to cradle the whole jeep mainspring.

pretty damn stiff and i got 3-3.5" of lift.

I used XJ/XJ, got about 1.5" over stock, but about 2.5-3" over where it was before.

Very happy with the ride, and it flexes very well. I want my rig to look "super-stock" rather than lifted right now, as I build it up. Once I get armor, a winch, snorkel, spare tire carrier, etc, I still want it to look fairly stockish as far as height. (We'll see, with all the added weight)

what was your setup for the springs? did you use 2 or 3 springs from donor pack.

I did a few experiments with this a while back. Drove them all for 30 days. I know I started a thread about it and never updated; I should do that...
I used JK shocks with all these set ups,and stock shackles with good angles, and I towed my 2500lb boat at least twice with all these. Measurements are over stock height, with Crown (4886187AB) springs that had 50k miles on them.

Ford Ranger payload "C" 2nd leaf - 3", very nice ride, slightly stiff, good flex, towed smooth

Dodge Dakota payload "B" 2nd leaf - 3.5", brick stiff ride, okay flex, towed stiff

XJ on XJ ( :shhh: ) pack - cut XJ main with XJ 2nd leaf trimmed slightly - 2.75", stock ride, great flex, towed smooth
