YES!!! The heat generated during the welding weekend the parts. I know, cause I saw the result, I am not a Metallurgist, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

That last bunch of pics I added last night were video stills, so the quality is not great, but it's nice to be able to click frame-to-frame to get the best part of the action.

As in weak front end? Of course you were right - 35s break stuff, but I was being abusive Saturday showing those Liberty drivers what a real Jeep can do...

Well John ... I can attest that the replacement shaft is hard as hell after the rub down Rev gave it!

On a serious note ... when that front U-joint broke, you had the front end turned pretty hard towards the drivers side. When we looked at the broken parts, there just was not enough left to determine what actually broke first, a cap or a yoke.

I know this conversation belongs in a different thread, but is a U-joint weaker when at an angle rather than when straight? Just wondering if this might have been a contributing factor if not the primary cause.

Just under 13 minutes to tunes by Jimi, and some Green Day for you youngsters If anyone that was there wants a copy, let me know, and I'll have it next time we all get together, or I could mail it for a beer (good beer only!). I'd still like to know how to post some short video clips, if someone call tell me an easy way to do it.

Depends on the size....if it is bigger than say 10meg you need someone with lotsa room. Under about 10 meg and I can do it for a while.
