sooo... yesterday I was doing a little mall crawlin at the local outlet mall when I heard a girls voice yell my name... so I look over and see 2 pretty girls I know and I wave and hold up my finger meaning hold on 1 second ofcourse... then I look back at the road and boom...... I hit an f150... so after I feel like tool for hitting a guy where everyone saw me do it but then I get out to apologize and ask if hes alright and he doesnt speak a word of english... so I didnt know what to do after looking at his damage I decided to offer him some money to fix his truck so the insurance isnt an issue we somehow workout that he would take 225 for his damages (its gonna be alot more than that... he didnt know that I have a feeling) so I pay him and im on my way...

so now Im faced with my damages:
New bumper
2 new fenders
and if im lucky thats it... I didnt take the bumper off yet and check past that but im guessing that everything is ok since I was going about 10 mph... it still drives fine and shows no more damage than that...

so my question is where can I get these parts cheap... I was planning on getting an aftermarket bumper like JCR or something but the fenders are 100 each on quadratec and I didnt find any on ebay was thinking about going to the local junk yard and trying to find something... my dad paints cars for a living so that wont be a problem I think I already have some paint made up...

WWYD? (what would you do)
 
my first thought would be to check a wrecker, not sure what year your running, but back home I checked a wrecker and they had 7 87-94 Jeeps all without body damage (but no D44's dang it)
check around, pull'em yourself and bargain with the owner till you find a price you like or walk away... I'm sure if its been there a while he's happy making a few bucks off it as opposed to letting it sit another few years.
 
sorry its a 96.. and I think thats what im going to do because there are alot of pre 96 XJs sitting and rotting... do 97+ fenders fit?

and anyone that wants to give me the "thats what you get for mall crawlin" line is going to be shusshed :shhh:
 
buy a winch bumper and get some fenders from a u pull it yard... end of story... If I would have known this a week ago I wouldn't have thrown away my front bumper... they are a dime a dozen though... put a wanted thread in the wanted section of the for sales and say you want a bumper if a winch bumper isn't a possibility for you.
 
96' and back fenders are the same, not sure about 97 and up. Well actually, the most pronounced difference is that the area under the marker light is cut flush with that body line instead of going all the way under the bumper.

If you just killed the piece under the marker with the bumper, why don't you just cut that like a 97 and up, then buy a nice heavy bumper? That way the next time you decide to drive with your dick, you won't smash your fenders ;)
 
97 + requires a 97+ header panel as well. But it all bolts up. You could make yourself a 96.5
 
If you didn't take out your header panel, lights, light bezels, or grill, then you probably didn't do much damage to your fenders. Like Zuki-Ron said, sounds like you just messed up the section under your lights, just cut it off and it won't happen again.
 
sorry I havent kept up with my thread... here it is...

want a winch bumper but can find one under 500 and thats a little tough on my salary being still in school and all...

I was thinking about the 96.5 deal but the header panel is like 220 plus fenders and bumper will rape me...

the girls came over right after it happened and gave me hugs and the one let me borrow 100 bucks to pay the guy so you can sit on the whole loser thing :D

its not just under my lights messed up... the fender is rippled like if two people were to push on the front and the back of the bumper at the same time it bowed out toward the middle...

Ill get pics of the damage tommorow but for now Ill leave you with a little teaser :D

Ok, so the question is....why weren't they in the jeep to begin with?
 
Not to be an arse or anything, but I don't think you should post up pictures of people on a forum...unless of course they all said it was okay...that's just one of my morals so I'm just sharing my opinion.

Pictures of the Jeep on the other hand...well also, make sure she gives you permission cause I didn't once then I had to replace a fuse.

the thing is the pictures are from there myspace... I thought about that and if they didnt want there pictures on the internet then they wouldnt have posted them on myspace to begin with... any creep can see there pictures as it is so I did it...

but I agree with you.
