im pretty sure i know the answer to this seeing that this chapter is a little bias on adding bacon to things :D

what are your thoughts on adding bacon to some chili? anyone use it in there chili before

out of the 8 lbs in the freezer i got a couple that are pretty fatty and this is what i will be adding to the chili...

Well, of course you should add it!

I've used it in mine before, but I'd recommend cooking it separate from your burger, or cooking it first so it gets cooked more. When it gets cooked with the burger, it never gets more than this weird chewy texture and never really gets cooked the way it should.

yeah, I'd cook it first. I'd fry till it'll be mildly crunchy when cooled, then break into smallish pieces, say about an inch long.

i cooked it crispy then chopped it up to almost bacon bit size so you get a little with every bite
 
My WF chili recipe uses bacon. I fry it pretty crispy, crunch it into small bits, separate the fat from the meat and throw the meat in the chili. I fry a whole pound for a double batch. It gets a little softer when it slow cooks which is why I cook it crispier than normal.

The best part is eating the fat when I separate it :D
