How do you actually measure backspacing??

Straightedge on back of wheel, measure to lug hole??

I would like to order new wheels that wouldn't rub my 31-10.50-15 wheels on my RE SF. Any expiriences?

thanks

Don't know how to measure BS.

I have 3.75" BS with the RE 3.5" SF and had the same size tires. I only rubbed in the back a little bit when I was completely stuffed. But didn't rub up front. The best BS is about 4" to 4.25". I went with 3.75" cause I really wanted the rims I got and they only came with that BS.

Hope this helps.

:lecture: Measure from the mounting surface to the inside edge of the wheel.

thanks, so what my measurements would give me would be offset.

when I measure from the mounting surface, is that the center of the mounting surface the inside back edge, or from the lug hole??

The "inside back edge". It's the flat surface that presses up against the hub (disc brakes) or drum (drum brakes) when the wheel is mounted on the vehicle.
