Axle in the Jeep

Just wondering if anyone has put a front axle in the jeep?


Thought I could take the front seat out if need be but wondering if a Dana 30 would fit in the back?

Yes it fits. Just fold down the back seats and angle it in.

an 8.8 fits as well...

was gonna say, I've hauled an 8.8 and a d30 in my XJ... separately. They would probably even fit together.

Nowadays I just drive the MJ, toss em in the back, and away I go. I've had a pair of d30s, an AW4, and an np231 back there all at once before.

I fit a HP30 and 8.25 in the rear of my XJ at the same time. Just fold down the seats as described before (and put them in at an angle).

you can also put one in Saturn coupe to take to have regeared

watch out putting the 8.8 in on your own! that was one of the few days I wish I had a stock height xj

It's not too bad... easier if you leave the sway bar attached to the axle and use it as a handle.

Best freaking part about owning a truck. I'm firmly a form follows function kind of guy and damned if a truck isn't functional.
