That's pretty interesting. I could see that being used in small airplanes. Since the crankshaft turns the opposite way of the pistons/cylinders it would help keep the plane from trying to turn over like the really old rotary engines did.

that's it's intended market.

there was an engine in the 80's that was configured similarly, it just used a rotting cam and rollers to transfer the power to the crank.

I can't for the life of me remember the name right now.
