It was. And there were a few 96 production YJs, but they were sold as either 95s or 97s, I forget which. They had a combination of YJ parts and TJ trim/bumpers/etc, basically whatever could be bolted on when the factory ran out of the respective YJ parts and still had orders to fulfill.

I am not sure if they were obd1 or obd2, probably obd1.

Also, what 5-speed did 2.5L 97+ XJs get? There is one at a local yard right now, I already pulled the rear axle (2wd, no front axle) but figured the bellhousing was worthless.

a '94-'95 2.5L YJ with AX5.

Not sure if the XJ was external then as well, the YJ's went external slave in the last years (there were never any 1996 Wranglers produced).

IIRC the YJ had the internal till 93. 94 and after they went to the external.

The few that were built got the AX-5 also. Every one that I have seen was an auto though. Which is the TF.
