aw4 burping fluid out of vent?

seems like both my old 95 and the current 96 at times burpout tranny fluid onto the exhaust and a bunch o smoke out the back, it only happens under certain circumstances...anyone else notice this or have a solution

Mine old AW4 would do that when the trans overheated. It will only get worse as the seals harden.

My 96 started burping it out the front seal this summer. Added an aftermarket(hayden ) cooler. Left original cooler disconnected. Problem solved.
