April 24, Meet and Greet

South Greenbelt forest preserve. April 24, be there at noon. We will be grillin, drinkin beer and having a good time. We only need a permit if there is over 25 people that are going to show up. So, do you think your going to make it? If you think you might make it, say yes. If you say no now, and you change your mind later and want to show up, then shoot me a PM, and Ill add you to the list. Since the number of people attending matters to the forest preserve, It matters to me as well, so let me know if your bringing your better halves.

thats the one...corner of 57 and 80. I personally have never been there, so I dont know the park..but, hell i guess were gonna find out.

I'll be there probably bring my brother with don't think the wife will come out she's usually at home with the baby. I'll try to drive past this week to check it out let you know how to get there better.

Looking at the satellite imagery, I see what looks like a couple parking areas for the bike paths towards the east end, and one more towards the center, but I don't really see anything that looks like a nice picnic area. Never been there so I don't really know.

This place might been a good alternative, I know it's nice, and it's near my house so if it rains we could always hang out in one of my garages...

I will try and make it out there, i have been to a couple of the spots out there when on my lunch brake there is alot of open space but no picnic tables or anything like that

Thanks for the suggestion John, but I think we should look into this S. Greenbelt, We should deffinitly do the one you suggested soon though. If it rains, Ill be bringing my carport Im gonna set up so, we'll hang under that.

So, just so everyone is on the right track....there is two Greenbelt forest preserves. The Meet and greet is at SOUTH GREEN BELT, its near the corner of 57 and 80 in Frankfort Illinois. We are NOT going to the one in waukegan. any questions shoot me a PM. I might take a ride out there and scope it out before we go, so If you wanna go with let me know.

I took a drive around on my lunch brake today and this looks like the best spot it has tables and easy access from I57

the other spots around flossmoor rd have only spots to park no tables or trees for shade

BEER!! lol. Who is bringing webers? my grill is just a little guy, and it wont cook much at a time, so we should prolly have several. Im also bringing a cornole set, given that the bags and everything are all still good.
