I know the 29th is a week before the crawl but I wanted to see if anyone was interested in a day trip somewhere semi close. I won't be at the crawl due to work but I really need to get my wheelin fix.

yes. i would love to. I think you'd like the WBR if you checked it out. not as big as some parks, but big enough to keep us entertained for a day, anyway. i could probably do wooly's, but now that i've discovered wishbone, i'd like to share it with my buddies, and explore more of the park myself.

EDIT: just spoke with the owner of the park, and the park will be open! He said he'd love to see a group of us out there....
it is supposed to rain some this week, so the more gnarly trails might be too much for the less built rigs (mine), but the stuff that was super easy today will still be fun when wet. What would wheeling be without a challenge?

Let's do it. Mileage wise this park is closer than Wooly's anyway. I'd like to check it out.

3/4 of my damage came from a wet (and cold 35*) trip to Wishbone. I'll think about it. Not sure my work schedule yet. It's a fun park.

not gonna lie, if you wheel here and don't take home a new dent, you did something right. or wrong. however you want to look at it, lol. I know my jeep got a little more character from this park. If I had been a little more careful, or stayed a little more to the tamer trails it would have only been as beat up as when i got there, but that's no fun, lol.

let us know dirk. I gotta get my wheelin fix. I havent really wheeled since last year.

I'm in...bringing my co-pilots.

sweet! dirk you wanna meet somewhere and caravan up?

I'm gonna be out of town but I'd like some pictures because I'd like to go one day...

Yeah, Brian, we can meet up. What about the Exxon Station at the Shelby Street exit - or are you taking Briley to 65 to avoid town? What time though?

Eric, what are gas prices in Kentucky - anywhere from Franklin up to Bowling Green?

Dirk, you are much better off to fill up in TN if you can. Gas is a little higher once you hit Franklin, and up to $.30 more per gallon in bowling green. Cheapest gas I know of between Nashville and bowling green is at the Kroger in White House. Don't remember which exit, but he Kroger is about 1/4 mile from I-65.

Lets say 7:30 for now at the exxon at shelby street.

GUYS! Just saw a post on Facebook and called Lynn at the Ranch to confirm...

WISHBONE RANCH IS closed on June 29, this Saturday. He just made the decision this morning.

Do we want to try to go somewhere else? LBL?

Wishbone's next open weekend should be the end of July.

I'd rather go to wooly's. I hate taking a jeep to lbl because it always seems like there is a ton of soft mud, water, and manmade obstacles, but no natural rock formations or anything... If I had a dirtbike I'd go to lbl.
Sucks that he decided to close wishbone this weekend. I figured that after talking to him he'd stick to the plan. There is another park on the same road called j&b Offroad, but I don't know anything about it. There are a lot of powerline trails and whatnot, but I don't know if it would be fun in a jeep or not. It is literally just a mile or so down the road from wishbone, though.

Well that sucks. Dirk you've never been to Wooly's. I'm up for a run there. Eric does that other park have a website?

No, I don't think so, but Lynn that owns WBR, and some guys on itsajeep.org say its a good time and not quite as rough as wishbone. Supposedly still some good wheelin to be had, though. I'm trying to round up a dirtbike to borrow or buy cheap in case you guys decide on LBL.

Either one is fine. You make the call. I've not run either one.

eric, are you good with woolys?
