anyone try this off of ebay?

Is the mapping of the HO ECU so narrow that it can't handle air and exhaust mods?

Gawd, that Chryco stuff is even crappier than i had previously realized.

The question I have for you guys is, do you test mods with a wide band O2 meter? IF not, how do you know if you are solving a problem, or if you even have a problem?

You could increase the stock HP output of the '91-'95 4.0 by about 15% and still use the stock injectors without getting a lean condition. Once above ~220hp, the stock injectors can no longer keep up and the engine begins to ping.
Relocating the IAT sensor so that it picks up cooler air might richen the A/F mixture enough to lessen or eliminate the ping and avoid having to fit larger injectors if your engine's just running slightly lean.
I did that initially but in the end I went for Ford 24lb injectors anyway and ended up running too rich instead of too lean. At least they got rid of the pinging altogether. Fortunately I fixed the richness with a MAP adjuster by reducing the MAP input voltage below the stock 5.0v level.

sorry wrong post :)

I got one I would be willing to give it to someone if they could possibly test it on a dyno then we would all know the answer. I'm not going to use it cuz I'm in the process of collecting parts for a stroker. I bought it for a 89.

Sorry to bring this back from teh dead, but I bought it for teh hell of it.I'm dynoing my 95 4.0 in january. I will let you know results before and after the resistor mod I may even post the dyno graphs). Its a completely stock setup, so the results will be from a stock hp level on a motor with over 220K miles on it. BTW: it is just a resistor...not sure which it is....seems to be covered in some sort or shrink wrap...

Upon reading JP's writeup on the 4.6 stroker they are building they said that the 4.0 has a tendancy to run lean, especially after airflow mods.

I haven't noticed a lean condition in mine, but i only have a cone filter for added flow. (still have a restrictive exhaust)
