does any one here runs these drop brackets?
I don't want to spend a lot of money to find out they are crap.
I plan to replace my lower control arms, so thought I'd look into the drop brackets while I am at it.
does anyone else make drop brackets?

Thanks!

Tyler ran the Rough Country ones until he went longarms.

Pat ran the RE's. Mark runs them on his MJ too.

I've got the RC, and consider it one of the best mods I've done.

As far as I can tell, the RC are identical to the RE, for about half the cash.

The support braces are different. RE requires you to drop the tranny crossmember, RC just screws (:eyes:) into the unibody.

I've had the RE ones on my heep for years now, and beat the hell out of them with no problems.

Bought a set of the RCs for Cindy's jeep during their X-mas sale, but haven't installed them yet. I do plan to re-inforce the brace mounting somehow, as I'm not real fond of just screwing them to the sheet metal.

Yeah I ran the Rough Country drops and still would be if I did not come across such a sweet deal on the TNT LA's. I had 0 complaints with them and landed VERY hard on them multiple times. As far as the support braces, I used teh self tappers that come with teh kit, but I also ran a weld down the seam between the bracket and the brace after they were installed as well as a weld between the factory LCA and the drop bracket. This really tied the bracket to the body and the brace to the bracket. I had no intentions of taking them off, but a simple swipe of the cut off wheel (maybe not so simple, but do-able) and they were off and on to the next owner. He wheeled them at WF this year (it was Collin). I am going to get another set and put on the DD in the very near future. I think that they are like $185 plus you get your NAXJA discount. Just call and talk w/ Jason (GRIMUS99XJ)

that's just my $.02

I've had no issues with the RE's, and would keep them if I weren't going bigger with D60's in the works. I can make you a heck of a deal BOB if you are willing to wait until I get it under the gas axe again!

I wish I would've known you were looking BOB, you could have checked mine out in Attica Inn's parking lot, mine was right next to your's several nights. The RC's are nice if for some reason that smoking deal ends up falling through on the RE's, and like Tyler said, well worth the money.

I have had them on mine for a few years.
I like them, they move the CA angles to a more stock position, the ride is amazing, even with 35" tires, John and I ran over 70 MPH back from Pritchet Canyon and even Lar commented on the ride, it was better than stock.
They are very durable, I have not been able to break them, I try too.
Quite a few people run them, Capt'n Ron, Rick had a set for a while.
I would put them on a "must have" list, for sure!

does anyone know if there is greater benefit for HP-Dana 30 or standard Dana 30??

Geometry is different....

any thoughts?

16 out of 18 years of production, I'd say the HP-30 is the "standard."

But as far as I know, the suspension geometery is the same, isn't it?

Just the drivetrain is different.

the HP is high pinion...the pinion is position higher.

the standard pinion goes to the center.

I think the geometry is different.

where are all the engineers?

The HP is the preferred axle. With the LP you run more of a risk with driveline vibes due to the fact that your driveline angles will be more severe with a lifted Jeep. This is the reason many swap out their LP's for HP's. As far as suspension geometry, their both the same. Driveline geometry is a bit different.

If you've got a choice between the two BOB.........HP, hands down.

if you have a HP 30 would drop brackets be beneficial ?

BOB

Serious question? If so, yes, they are VERY beneficial! They made mine ride like a caddy compared to another 4.5 lift truck without them.
