Just a heads up in case anyone is looking for a daily.
I was just out talking to my next door neighbor and we got to talking about his Ford Explorer. They picked up a van recently and the Explorer has been pretty much sitting since. Not the real old, smaller ones, but, like that second generation or so. I'm not real familiar with them.
He told me that it has 140k on it, newer tires, and it seems to run just great. They had a second kid so they picked up a Honda minivan. It has been his work truck for as long as I can remember. It is a 4WD, but he mentioned that it no longer works? I don't know that system, but I'd bet it is just an electronic or vacuum issue. Whatever that truck used.
Anyway, I'm sure he'd take a grand for it, easily. Maybe less? Heck, I'd pick it up, detail it and put out in my drive, but I just don't have the time right now. Seems like it would make a great beater, and I know these things have a following like the XJ's. Maybe you know someone looking for a hardcore starting point?
