Anyone in the GV area have coil spring compressors?

Going from a budget 4.5 (f150 springs and 2" spacers) to RE 6.5 inch springs in front, and rebuilding the leaf pack. I could probably get away without em, but i had oral surgery tuesday (major infection and 3 teeth yanked, doc says i was 24 hours from death because of the infection), and i'm not quite back to 100% so i dont want to get to carried away yet.

ouch!! that sucks.. Make sure its jacked up(jack stands) high enough for the axle to droop and unbolt the LCA and Shock at the axle end. Support the axle with a floor jack too just to be safe. You should be able to lower it enough to stuff em in there. watch out for break lines too. Good Luck..

That sucks man!

I'd recommend against those compressors.

Just loosen the control arms, and drop the track bar/ shocks.

I usually use a well placed bottle jack, and use it between the axle and frame. Expand it, and push the axle down.

Thanks for the input, we'll see how it goes. I'm going to get started in an hour or two, and will take pics. If i succees and get them in, i'll post up some pics. Those of you in the GV area will recognize the Heep, kinda hard to miss mine.
