Anyone heard of a Turbonator?

I just found this website for the "TURBONATOR"
Apparently it is like a turbocharger, but not with the hefty price tag.

For just 1 easy payment of $69.95 you could increase your horsepower up to 35 horses more, and get more miles to the gallon.

If you have ever used one of these or know someone who does, let me know what they thought of it.

It is the real deal of just a piece of crap?

If you want to know where you can get 1 urself here is the website.

Thanx,

There was a similar product on TV for awhile and it makes sense to me but you will NEVER see that much HP gain may be a few horses and a little better MPG (IMO). The one that was on TV was cheaper I think. Thought about trying one for the hell of it but I dont know if they make one that will fit in my FIPK.

You're right that you won't see that much HP gain. What you'll probably see is a LOSS of HP and WORSE gas mileage! This thing is only going to impede the air flow to your engine, not help it.

I see it both ways............. Guess it really depends on the volume/velocity of air flow.

The Turbonator is much less expensive and more efficient than any turbocharger, supercharger, blower, or intercooler.

If they truly had a grasp of what these components actually do, they wouldn't just lump them together in a single comparison like that. However, as a marketing ploy to catch dimwitted ricer bois, they certainly picked the right buzz words. Left out Nitrous, though.

And beyond just the semantics of it, their product is incapable of performing the function of any of the aforementioned items.

Okay, maybe at idle speed this thing won't impede the flow into the engine. Other than that, it will.

On older, carbureted engines you might see a half a horsepower and a half a mile per gallon improvement from swirling your air. On a multi-port fuel injection system like that found on all XJs, this thing is a complete waste of money.

I'll tell you what I'll do for you. Instead of spending $70 for worse performance, you send me half that much. I'll think really positive thoughts about your engine. You'll save $35 and get the same (instead of WORSE) performance! Now, compared to spending money on the Turbonator, that's a REALLY GOOD DEAL!
