Anyone have a rear XJ D44 they're looking to get rid of?

Thanks for trying to justify ripping off others, most people pay the rent with a job. I hope you never break on the trail with me and I have that part you need, karma is a bitch! 400% mark up back at you!

Come to think of it Nick, I just hope you are never on the trail with me.

I could see $150 as you had to find it and pull it, I bet Sharpie would be happy at that price. But he would have to put up with you when he got it! :D

Still one of the best quotes:

LeBaron is such a great name for a car.

It just rolls off the tongue. And it sounds classy, Euro, and quite high-tone.

Say it with me......Le Baron......Le Baron.....

Sweet.

Leeeeeeee Barrrrrrron!

150 is the price then sharpie?

i dont want to be "that guy" that everyone hates and if im already there id liek to find a way to make it up to you guys

never again

from now on if i find them ill just leave them were there are and post up so others can get it

I suppose I could do that. I am either gunshy because I don't know if I'm getting my chain yanked, or I am gunshy, because I can find my own without making a scene, but if you are genuine, I can come pick it up sometime by Monday (either tomorrow, or Monday, basically). Let me know. If everyone's just making a scene, and you can get $300 for it, go for it, because I can find my own. Let me know either way.

Whoa guys...cut Nick some slack, that was the price posted on craigslist... and if someone is foolish enough to drive from LA to pay $500 then so be it. I didn't throw that link out there in the earlier post to get Nick roasted on a spit.

He did hunt it down and pull it, so he should be reasonably (<-Key word)compensated for his efforts and labor. and he offered it to NAXJA members for $300.

Nick, Paying rent does suck, been doing it in one form or another for 30 years. It is easier when you have a job. The LeBaron hood vents work wonderfully.

We just like giving Nick a bunch of crap. :gag:

Like you said, "reasonable compensation" is the key to this conversation.

Seriously Nick, the last thing you need to do is take this crap personally. We're just a buch of retards on the internet, nothing more. Sell your junk for whatever you want because you are right that some people have more money then sense. Why not cash in? I think it was cool to hook up Sharpie with it for a good price. Maybe Sharpie will return the favor and help support the forum where he found such a good deal. Either way, its all good from my perspective.

Nick, if you ever find another $150 complete D44, I want 1st dibs.

oh believe me, BC. Once I figure out how much extra $ I have this month, the first $30 is going to becoming a red-tag member of NAXJA.

Second off, I have a complete black 97+ front stock bumper assembly, with a 3"x3" dent on the passenger cap (which could be hammered out, and some scratches. I am willing to get rid of it here for free, to help someone out, should they need it. PM me if you want it, and can come pick it up in Davis.

Haha, damn, you guys are harsh...!

How I see it, all us Jeepers are more than capable of going to Pick N Pull, taking the time to find one, pull it, clean it up, and install it. For those people on craigslist who are too lazy, $500 is fair. If they don't want to waste the time on numerous PnP trips and would rather sit in their arm chair and find one ready to go, they are going to have to pay the price.

I too have sold 2 44's for $500 on CL. There is a lot of work involved even just finding the damn things. I install them for the buyer which if you went to a shop would be a load of cash. So I think it is fair.

That was very nice of Nick to sell it for $150, which is about what they charge at the junkyard, and Brian didn't have to do anything, Nick did all the labor, and at that price, made practically nothing...

He doubled his money, thats not bad at all. Takes about one hour to pull an axle, $70-$80 an hour is not bad.

You can make $400 for an axle, but you might not make many friends. Nick wheels with us. If he had broken anything on that last run I would have hooked him up with any part he needed if I had it. I would have got under his rig and worked on it with him, welded any broken part, or towed his rig off the trail because of how he helped out Sharpie.

Just good Trail Karma for Nick, part of what makes NAXJA a great group of people.

You might want to try getting Lebaron hood vents, you can make LOTs of money selling them to XJ owners.

Wait what?!?!? You completely contradict your first post...?? I'm confused.

And at $150, how do you figure he doubled his money? PnP charges about $150 for a complete rear end. If anything, he lost money; time and labor.

Just remeber it takes all kinds to make the world go around. Some people are better at making and keeping friends than others. Some people try to make a buck at any cost. I prefer to take care of my friends, who in turn take care of me. Bottom line is do what you want to do, but don't sit here and expect everyone to agree with your philosophy on life.

Come to think of it, I am in the process of giving Letterman an XJ D44 housing, for free. Just because I know he would do the same for me, and has helped me quite a few times get my junk back on the road.

To each his own. :dunno:
