i have an old cd player out of my old car i wanted to put in my jeep but lost the book for it. anything i can do to figure out the wires to hook it up with out the instructiions? looked online for a a manual cant seem to find one. its a panasonic CQ-C1001U if that helps. any help would be great thanks.

I dunno if panasonic follows the color code, but I'll try. red:ignition 12v, yellow:constant 12v, black:ground, white:left front speaker +, white w/black:LF-, grey:RF+, grey w/black:RF-, green:LR+, green w/black:LR-, purple:RR+, purple w/black:RR-, blue w/white:amp turn on.

Here's what ya do. Go to Wal-Mart and pick up two wiring kits. One for your old car and one for your jeep. You can label the wires on your panasonic cd player based on what wires they were connected to on your old car. And the install kit will tell you what each wire on your old car is. Then just wire up the cd player to your jeep using the wiring kit for your jeep now that you know what all the wires for your cd player are. Will that work?

someone else told me the same thing as gradon and i tried that got power and eveything to it with the key turned back but no sound. when i turned the jeep on it blew the fuse in the cd player and and then the cd player smoked for a minute lol. do u think the cd player would be toast now? i dont think i hooked the speaker wires up right would this cause it to blow like that seems like that may have been the problem where there was no sound too. i looked for the wire kit at walmart and they only had one for a 97 and up cherokee mines a 93. i was gonna try hooking it up again and get all the wires exact but dont want to bother if the cd player is toast now.

I would say that the cd-player is smoked(at least one channel). It still might be worth it to buy a fuse to double check though.
