Well my brother's 95 ZJ has an evaporator core leak, and he would like to have air again. For some reason he thinks since I just did my other bro's XJ evaporator I should have the privelige (sp?) of doing his as well. Has anyone had experience on doing one or atleast taking a ZJ dash apart for any other reason? If so, how much worse is it than a late model XJ? I may troll around NAGCA too but I figured I'd see if you guys knew first. Let me know.
Thanks,
Collin

done it. its not too hard. there are several nuts at the top, under the speaker grilles and under the defroster duct cover.
a bolt on each side of the dash.
lower the steering column and ther is a 10mm right above the column under the cluster.
a screw behind the ashtray.
under the hood there are several studs that go through the firewall, one behind the pcm, one in the center of the firewall by the valve cover if it is a 4.0 and i think 2 more in the middle.
then unplug the wiring connectors and antenna cable behind the right kick panel, and any other wiring that looks like it will hinder the removing the dash. once the dash is loosened you cann pull it back far enough to allow the evap case enough room to slide out the right front door. i use a bungee cord to hold the dash back

Jeff, it's been a while since I picked at your wealth of knowledge, hadn't even seen you around here for a while; just shows you're still a Jeeper at heart huh? That doesn't sound too bad maybe I will tackle it.
Thanks for the insight,

i rarely check here anymore. it seems people would rather try things the hard way so i just let them at it. i saw this was you so i thought i would respond. there may be a few other fasteners you may have to take out. i cant remember them all. just be careful. by the way, i picked up a 93 xj a coupke of weeks ago. the customer didnt want to fix it so he gave me the title. i put a head gasket on it and it seems o.k. not bad for less than
$100. its a 4x4 with air and automatic. no powwr windows or locks though.
