Anyone doing gears soon?

I was just wondering if anyone was planning on doing their own gears soon, and wouldn't mind letting me sit back and watch how it's done. I'm outside of Worcester, Ma- don't mind driving like an hour or whatever- i'd just really like to learn, and i think watching someone else do it would be a good way to get acquainted with it. Thanks. --Chad--

hey chad im doing mine soon but there my first so i dont know how much youll learn

lol... hell, anything is better than the info i have now...i've never even seen a cracked open diff., other than online.

Hey I just finished replacing all my gears from a donor. It took me 11 hours just to remove my broken one and all the others and reinstall them. then try it out. 11 and half actually. so bring your lawn chair. also if you plan on doin it yourself be prepared to struggle for a while its definatly useful to have 2 people on the job cause the way i did it the wheels came off i slid out my original axles and replaced those 2. LOTS OF TIME but a little tighter at the rear wheels now much more responcive then haveing 2 gears shattering.

not to hijack, but how do you like the banks header? as for gears, ive never done light duty stuff, but ive done a bunch in heavy truck, and they were pretty straight forward....

I like it, it was kinda a PITA to install since i have the 2000 with the larger intake manifold...not too much room to get the inner top 2 or 3 bolts in. Also i was not able to torque them with a torque wrench due to only being able to fit a closed end, ratcheting wrench up onto them. But the things are built so stout that i have no leaks at all... the flange is so damn thick!
