anybody running 8.25 w 4.88s

I'm running them. No problems here and it's set up pretty tight.

i have been running 4.88's in my 8.25 for about 4 years now. work great with 33's.
i'll be selling my d30 & 8.25 both with 4.88's & arb's once i install my new d44's with 5.38's later this year.

If its your daily driver though, you might wanna do like 4.56. When i do highway, i wish i had 4.56's for lower rpms and i have 35's.

I run 4.88's in a D44. With a manual I run 2600-2700 rpm at 65 mph. The auto has a deeper overdrive so the RPMs will be slightly lower. You will be thankful for the lower gearing when climbing hills.

Bryan what size tires do you have.
I was talking with Jason at WFO Concepts in Auburn and he said that he put 4.88's in when his customers will be running 33's and a auto transmission. Jason said he has done over fifty this way and everyone likes the way their rigs runs on the trail and hwy.
This is the way I will be going I think too.

i ran 4.88s with 33s . it was great for the hills going to the trail. wasnt as great with 35s, but manageable for sure, not bad. with 36s even worse , but some things did help : (bored TB, long tube headers, performance plug wires, new TPS, o2 sensor, plugs, acetone in tank, sea foam through intake) .

I feel like youll be kicking yourself for not doing 4.88s if you run 33s.

plus, youll be eventually be on 35s. it happens to all of us. even when we promise ourselves we wont do it....

I run 35's. I started with 33's and didn't feel much of a difference when I went to the 35's.

I'm on 33's with 4.56 gears and an auto tranny. I really wish I went to 4.88 gears with 33's.
