My buddy alread has the AAL in his stock pack how shoud we go about doin this? What if we were to take out a couple of leafs from the dakota and swap it in the xj pack along with the AAl? Wich leafs do we take out of the dakota and where do we put them in the xj pack?
The leaves are a different length but it's not a big deal - ya just hold the Dakota pack up w/ the pin dropped thru the XJ main leaf, mark em, cut em, combine em, enjoy em.
They're pretty darn flexy & the full pack minus the helper/overload gave my son 4" lift in the back w/ the stock shackle.
Link above pretty much explains it all on my site.
How would you recomend doin this install with a AAL already in the pack? He wants to get 4 more inches on top of the 3" AAL he already has. Also when you talk about new leaf pins How long should the 3/8" bolt be? I`m also Assuming that the stock nut will work for the top?

For 7" total, you need new packs. Or at the very least, new longer main leafs. The stockers aren't near long enough for that much lift.
You can pick and choose leafs from the stock XJ pack, the dakota pack, and the aal to get the desired arch and spring rate to a point. But 4" on top of the 3" is simply not possible.
