Im in albany but moving in 3 weeks to somewhere in delmar. Im not sure where utica is but im sure its not much of a drive. I looked those trails up in my topo map book...are they dec trails? Can anyone go up there? I might cruise up there soon just to check them out.

IN REGARDS to the Nobleboro 4x4 trails,.......

These are trails that are designated 4x4 trails in the summer and snowmobile trails in the winter. They typically open them up around May 5th, depending on the winter thaw and the trail condition. Some trails they open some remain closed until they are suitable to traverse. About 2 years ago, when the trails just opened (Bull Hill/ California Rd.)we went up for a weekend, and ended up spending a couple more days in the woods, winching down hill, miles from nowhere due to a major rain fall. broken axles, burned out winches, the whole shebang...... took a logging skidder to remove us from the trail a week later.....not recommended to go alone.... nuff said.... I now call the Ranger, and find out what the conditions are, before we venture out, due to the above.... The trails at nobleboro are not usually as bad but sure can be, depending on the spring rains. I anticipate that they will be open on schedule, since we are getting the thaw now, but if they are not open they are gated. I'll be giving Ranger Rick a call in a couple of weeks to find out what the status is...... so stay tuned.......

Yep....I'm from New Hartford....well thats my address but I concider it Sauquoit.

Have you wheeled around here at all? I'll be heading over to the tassle hill area off rt8 south once the snomobiles are done. It will be an icey mess right now.
