Looking to put a cheapy lift on the newer xj I just picked up and was looking at the rough country 3 inch lift. Its new 3 in coils, 2 inch rear add a leaf, and a 1 inch lift block. I know it will stiffen the ride quality, but being a YJ, and CJ owner, I know all about Leaf spring set ups and how you can change a daily driver into more like driving a pregnant rollerskate. This XJ will prob not see a lot of heavy wheeling, but its feeling left out in the driveway sitting next to 3-4 highly modified and lifted YJ's, TJ's, and CJ's. N E one running one of these lift kits. If these kits are crap should i see if I can find rear dakota springs, and just purchase the 3 inch front springs? N E suggestons would be appreciated. My first lift on the XJ was the Rough Country 3 inch lift from the MJ, Brand new was $109 from JC Whitney... The lift does the job, it wasnt that nad fot the price or for a short arm setup.. Chose your shocks wisely and it will be a desent ride

Check out rock lizard fabrications ( do a search) budget boost. If you add the second leaf you will get around 3" of lift. You will also get a FANTASTIC ride! I did this on my brother's xj and the ride is WAAAAY better than my RE BB! Matter of fact I'm dumping my RE stuff and doing the same thing with some s10 rear springs and a pair of zj v8 coils. (I have >$85 into all the parts at the moment!!) If you want my short aals I'm taking them off in a week or so, you can have em for $20 plus the shipping.
