(insurance company pressured the state to not let us jeeps back in after the land changed hands from feds. to state owned) it is atv and bike park now. only places to wheel legally is privately owned ground, usually owned or run by local clubs like Miobi. i have been to Miobi runs many times and the land is very good. very tall timber, quarries, man made rock garden and a creek to run in. there are other clubs around the Des Moines area. where in Iowa are you?
in des moines county you get a ticket for tearing up the roads.derajer said:I have personally found that if you drive down south a bit around knoxville and atleast as far west as Mount Ayr all you have to do is look for class B roads and keep driving down them until you burry your jeep. Many of the so-called class B roads are in fact 4x4 trails that are completely impassable with anything less that a built rig. My friend and I burried his outlander in a tank trap, we pulled it out with my uncles tractor which he has to steer with the brakes because the front end didn't get enough traction and he had chains on it. What's more is that he was going through mud holes so deep that he had to lift his boots off the footrest plates to keep from getting wet so I would say there are public trails, if you know where to look. Got GPS? I'll give your the coordinates of this trail.
