Hey all, My parents are coming down to visit and I want to take my dad out wheeling (mom's been already, and she's coming too), sooo... I thought to go out to Calico. I know there have been a good number of runs out there recently, but they live in the land of snow, and for a change of scenery, that takes out Big Bear.

Anyway, meeting Saturday, February 12 at 8am at the Peggy Sue's off the Ghost Town Road Exit. We'll leave at 8:30 and do the regular Odessa/Duran loop and whatever else fits our fancy.

Channel 4 and go up by tens if they're busy.

This is just a day trip for me, but a cool place to camp out for the weekend if you want to stay longer. Let me know if you'd like to come, we'd be happy to have you along.

Are you sure you want your parents to meet all of your XJ "friends"?

Mom has met you guys before, Dad's seen pictures. He thinks I'm nuts. :)

So are you coming?

Seeing that this weekend (Calico) will only happen for me if the stars align and I get the next two days off of work and that Saturday is open (so far) on our calender. Probably.

hmmm the possibilities are endless i would want to go but i just dont know if my jeep is ready i only have 3" in the front and no sway bar disconnects.. hmmmmm.... how far of a drive is it out to calico from lets say torrance,ca like 3 hours?

You could just unbolt the sway bar. We did that to flex the front better and get the spacers installed at karstic's place. The disconnects just make it easier and quicker as far as I can tell.

The first time I did Calico (Year ago) I did it stock height w/ armor and a rear locker, and a small dose of courage. I had to take my sway bar links on and off everytime I went out, and eventually I just took it off until I got disconnects.

Dunno about time, it's 2-2.5 from Orange County, but you're probably about right.

i got 3 in the front none in the back and no armor just the factory and no lockers =/
