Watching Animal Cops on Animal Planet.

I'm not any kind of PETA person, or animal rights activist, but GD there are some worthless people in this world that don't take care of their pets.

They just had to put down two dogs because they were too far gone from stupid owners.

Damn that show gets me irritated sometimes!

I hear ya fergie. I saw one episode where some a-hole hit a daschsund on the head with a hammer. We have two daschunds that are pretty much our kids. Personally, i would open a can if i saw someone abusing an animal....

I did Humane Investigations and Animal Control here in Chicago for 10 years...

I've seen stuff that makes the TV stuff a Disney family film.

I also worked as a Euthanasia Technician for 1 1/2 years...

I can honestly say I've put to sleep more than 10,000 dogs, cats, misc. by letal injection with my own hands...

It's not a bragging figure but another reason as to why my views are what they are.

I'm sure you don't want to hear about the puppy that got doused in lighter fluid and set afire then dumped in a garbage can by a 10yr old because it was interrupting his basketball game...

When me and my partner showed up...

The puppy was still alive and actually belonged to the kids 8yr old brother.

I got tons more like that and worse.

It's a shitty thankless job that kills you on the inside.

Glad I now work at the medical end of the field.

I caught the episode where a dog had been tied up with a tight steel chain, no collar and the chain had embeded in the dogs neck! Someone need to be beat with that chain.

Worked as a surgical tech for a boarded surgeon until 3 weeks ago...

transferred to Neurology dept 3 weeks ago...

MRI's, CT's, Myelograms, Brain Surgeries and other fun stuff.

Going back to school for DVM once the homefront situation calms down.

Actually hoping to go to UW-Madison for my DVM degree...

U of I champaign has gone down the tubes.

My wife is a DVM.

Advice: if you want to make big money be prepared to own/operate your own clinic. It is the only way to be highly profitable in the field, at least up here.

If you follow that tact, make sure you back fill any electives that you can with business type courses. My wife went to UofG; can't remember if they had that type of thing in the cirriculum (must have I'd suppose).

I think it would be better if they didnt take care of their pets.. just leave the gate open, I am sure they would be better off. its the ones that chain them up and perposely neglect them..

The Horses and Livestock in Chicago and NY city are always the ones that get me..
