241s and some 231s I've seen are tucked up nicely within the frame rails, yet my 242 and some 231s I've seen have the front output side hanging down below the rails.
Why is this? I bought an 86xj for the axles (9"/44 hybrids) and it has the 4 banger/5 speed/231; and even w/a drop kit, the tcase is tucked way up in the body. If I can't rotate my 242 up like that, then I'd probably want to swap t-cases just to gain the ground clearance.
The drivelines on the 231 are about horizontal, on the same plane. My 242's front driveline is much lower than the rear. Anybody got the lowdown on this?
And also, I've got the aw-4, so what are my options on swapping tcases? 241 possible?
