angle iron vs channel steal

tnt that is what I was thinking about doing do you know anyone who has gone this route?

I haven't seen it yet but it is the logical solution. The easiest way would be to us the T&T stiffeners and cut them as need.

I will be building my own stffeneres out of some 1/8" or3/16" sguare tube cut to fit or I might just buy the T&T stiffeners. I need to check steel prices first, but from what I've heard the T&T ones fit real nice.

are the TNT frame stiffners more of an angle iron shape or the box channel? I am thinking of doing like TNT suggested and boxing all the way up to the braces and welding to them, does anyone think that this would be a bad idea possibly weakening the LA mounts? Also I am thinking of doing it this way in sections so that I can have it covering two sides of the frame rail when something such as the cross memeber, LA mounts, or rock rails or in the way of all three sides. Anyone have any bad input on this?

Niether... They are contoured to match the frame shape. Check out the following link.

What is a little hard to see in TNT's pictures is that the TNT frame pieces have a 45 degree area to match the shape of the XJ frame better than a right angle. Jeff

tjamks everyone for the input this has been a lot of help and I think I have a very solid idea of what to do know I'll post up some pictures when it's
done
