All I have to say is fawk Lance Armstrong ;)

American Landis wins Tour de France

Between the gas prices and the added excitement of an American who is NOT a royal asshat winning the TDF, the bicycle industry should be doing well these days. party1:

Who cares, now that Lance is retired?

Well, other than it is the third American ever to win the TDF, it really pisses France off that for the 8th year in a row, an American has one.

What is better than giving France an non-literal middle finger?

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that another American has won, but what diseases has he had?
Just a broken hip a few years ago, right?
That aint nut cancer.
Gotta come with more than just a win in the toughest bike race ever, to impress me.
I'd wager that there will never be another rider win more times with lager odds against him than Lance has in the last decade.
Debatable? HELL NO!

Go USA.:patriot:

Actually Greg Lemond pulled it off with his gun shot recovery. Because of all the recovery 'drugs' it was Lemond's father that discovered EPO.

Lance was not much different with his recovery 'drugs' that made him 'super human.' He does have a naturally large lung capacity as well.

Landis has had injuries, none of which compare to what Lemond and Lance have gone through. But after his hip replacement, he'll have special recovery 'drugs' and watch out, I bet he'll have a good run a the podium again in the next couple of years.

I have met and dealt with both Lemond and Lance. I must say, Greg Lemond was probably one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Lemond would sign anything you asked him to and always gave eye to eye contact with you when talking. Lance, on the other hand, will not look at you, refuses to sign anything you hand him and responds 'I'm not going to sign that because it will only end up on eBay.' I have seen Lance turn more people away that went to greet him than one would believe. He is rude and an overall asshat. Right now he still has 'thunder' in our industry because of his amazing feat but give it time and I guarantee, with all the bridges he has burned, he won't be welcome too much longer especially now that the US has a new 'hero,' Floyd Landis. In a 20/20 interview with Lance's mother, she all but said he was an asshat. I am not denying the amazing feat Armstrong did, I am just saying as a human being, he is a complete piece of $hit.

I have not (yet) met Landis, but from his menonite background, I cannot imagine him being anywhere near an asshat as Lance.

And yes, go USA!!

Didn't the real top two contenders get kicked out at the start for 'doping'?

Yes but then you must analyze 'were they contenders because of the drugs or before the drugs?'

Regardless it is a hell of an event and feat. Too bad a lot of those guys don't race the Vuelta de Espana or the Giro.

Face, I guess?:D

I don't think Lance was always an asshat (if he really is). But the people around him may have turned him into one.

Back when Lance won his 2nd TDF, he appeared at the Interbike show in Las Vegas to sign autographs. The line to meet Lance was huge. I wouldn't wait in line for hours, but my buddy did because he wanted Lance to sign the cast on his broken arm.

He finally reached the front of the line and asked Lance to sign his cast. Lance said, "Sure". Then some lady associated with Lance said, "No".

I have met Floyd, and he is a very cool, down-to-earth guy. But then again, Lance probably used to be too. Don't get me wrong, I really admire Lance for his accomplishments. And I loved his cameo appearance in "Dodgeball". Let's hope that Floyd can maintain his current personality.

bicycling is for asshats...

unless you're into the egg basket helmets and aero tights.

Then you're just gay

Actually he has always been as asshat. Even as a amateur racer in Texas, he made a lot more enemies than friends with his horrible attitude.

Look on Yahoo!/Google and type lance armstrong asshole and your come up with 60,500 hits

"1 - 10 of about 60,500 for lance armstrong asshole"

And for Greg Lemond:

1 - 10 of about 261 for greg lemond asshole

Yes, he really is an asshat.

Was that before or after he personally ripped his image out of all of the Pearl Izumi catalogs since they didn't ask his permission for the picture in it?

Yeah, right, and don't forget that all those athletic women are lesbians too. I encourage you to believe it. Go ahead, plonk yourself down in front of the big screen and whack your way to your next heart attack dreaming of slackjawed bathycolpous bimbos with boobs bigger than their vistigial lagomorphic brains. Meanwhile we fairies and fools in motley know how to chase down fit women with firm butts and lots of endurance.....:wave1:

Translation: I like flat chested women and being impotent.

Fixed for accuracy

I'd wager you don't even need a pump to inflate your tires.

LOL

1.) It is impossible to look "cool" on a bicycle.

2.) The OP just proves that the Yanks have better "stealth" steroids than the Eurotrash.

That is all.
