AMC engine swap expert

Howdy folks, I'm :new: here & currently not in possession of any type of Jeep. Owned a couple AMC Eagles years ago & was playing with Craig's List when this caught my eye. What I'm looking for is somebody who could tell me what's involved in swapping an AMC 360 into this :dunno:. IF I was to buy it, it'd have to have that before anything else. All I know about it in addition to the ad is that it's an automatic. You guys were what came up on Google for AMC engine swaps & I figured at least it is a 4 wheel drive. Maybe somebody here can point me in the right direction. Thanks. Below is the Craig's List I found it on.:

you would probably have to do a straight axle in front first as the differential and middle section of the front axle mount to the 4.2/258 engine block with some very special brackets. BUT IF YOU GOT THE TIME AND MONEY then anything is possible, good luck I have had 4 of those, and would really love a sundancer, (2 door convertible) less than 200 made.

'Not familiar with the fwd setup on the eagle. if it's bolted to the engine like RNMedic says, you're either hosed, or in for a lot of work.

If you can't figure out a 360 swap(could you score a 401?) because of engine brackets, etc, there's a pretty popular stroker recipe a lot of Jeepers use. It should just about bolt in.
Grab a late model 4.0L block, bore .030 to .060 over, put the 258 crank & rods in, and play with the head/piston fit to get the compression somewhere reasonable. You get 4.6-4.7L / 282-288ci out of mostly stock components. Most of the builds claim 230-240 hp without a lot of drama.

i would get the entire drivetrain outu of a grand wagoneer if you wanted to go that route. it would be a pain in the arse, but doable, i would think....
