All Things Guns

Three weeks from the time I mailed it. I used the credit card pay option and my CLEO stopped and talked to me after he received the application.

So I got a wild hair, and decided to try building a suppressor. I E-filed my form 1 on a trust, took 6 weeks to approve. Bought a tube, end caps, and brake from SD Tactical. Formed baffles from freeze plugs. Put it together, and screwed it on the end of my 8" Blackout barrel.

It sounds like a paintball gun. The bullet hitting the backstop is louder than the muzzle report. When I shoot it, the action noise is louder than the shot. With supersonic loads it sounds like a quiet .22.

I have about $150.00 in it, plus the $200 stamp. It was worth every penny. I'm going to order a brake to put on my 5.56 SBR so I can use it on it too. I reload with cast bullets I am making from free wheel weights, it costs about 6 cents a round.

I'll use it to hunt this year, so I won't worry so much about scaring the deer if I take a shot at a stray coyote. And I can still hear after I shoot at it.

The only downside is I'm going to be busy casting bullets to feed it.

That's pretty sweet! What's the diameter on your tube? I can never find good enough info to feel confident making my own.

Finally found a conceal holster for the Taurus 617. .357 "7" shot!

I want to restore one to a trench gun. It goes with my other milsurps.

The Saiga is fun but it's something I'd be willing to live without to get what I want.

I'd do it...but I would rather have a few shooting mil-surps than a safe full of modern stuff. Not to mention that bayonet is crazy on the trench 1897.
