All growed up...yet again.

So are you going to be running the MT/Rs because you can, or because you actually are thinking that they'll do well up here?
A little bit of both, but mainly because I was so impressed with the performance in Johnson Valley; I was not expecting to like them at all. I think they'll do great on our sloppy nasty trails, snow is the only big question yet to be answered, and that is a big question.

Hypo.

And wow, those look much larger than 37s...I guess seeing them under Johns rig, and now yours is blowing my perspective out of the water though.

I take it you have never been wheeling with Matt or seen him drive?

I believe that Matt is getting a set of Walker Evans BL's.

Unfortunately not :( Hell, I didn't even meet John until today. I saw all you guys yet I have no idea who was who.

I still think 37s are a mistake. The 35s are perfect.

You need to buy/build something around the tires...the XJ ain't it.

X2...well, X1.5.

I wouldnt say the 37s are a mistake, but IMO, going over a 35 on an XJ is scratching overkill. It will be sweet to see them in action and how they work out for you, Matt. Your rig does have more trimming work than most XJs out there, so its the right rig to test out some 37s.

Meh The only reason larger tires are a bad Idea is the lack of frame. If the xj had a frame to support it it would be perfect.

Really? I think 4.88's and 35's are a great combo with the AW4, 4.56's and 35's are not as ideal but they still work for me.

FWIW, I LOVED 35's and 5.13's. My 37's and 5.13's are do-able (and it's a lighter rig), 5.38's would be better... but not available for the 8.8. Guess I'll have to swap when I do the rear 60.... or just add a V8. :)

It's not enough for me to pay to go to 5.13. I'll probably just get a deeper low range xfer case.
